$500 is the deposit required to secure a whole steer. The remaining balance is calculated based on weight and will be paid at the time of slaughter. Each steer is $2.10/lbs of live weight. The butcher is then paid at .85/lbs of hanging weight. A steer's live weight ranges from roughly 800lbs-1300lbs. All standard cuts included.
If you want the tongue, owfuls, ox tail, and bones for broth you must contact us BEFORE the steer is butchered.
